To fulfil the requirements for the Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy program at Briercrest Seminary, Carolyn is currently a counselling intern with NorthWind Counselling Services. She is also pursuing certification as a Spiritual Director with the Epiphany Association. Her areas of specialization and research include trauma-informed care and education, anti-racism allyship, spiritual formation over the lifespan, and social justice education. Previous to her current role at NorthWind, Carolyn served as a volunteer at The Gathering, an Administrative Assistant, a member of the Board, served at summer camps, and helped develop LifeBuild.
Carolyn is a wife and mother and enjoyed many years of homeschooling, foster parenting with Dilico Anishinabek Family Care, and church planting before returning to graduate school full-time.
Her favourite quote influences her life: “Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.” – Henri Nouwen
