Eagle’s Cove Story
We faced a significant setback when the former owners of Eagle’s Cove closed the camp in 2014. We wondered if our vision would ever happen. We struggled for three years, but we held onto the threads of hope that God would give us a place for people to experience hope and healing. God reassured us that we were not to discard what He had instilled in our hearts years before, but we faced a challenge; we were landless!
We began negotiations to acquire the Eagle’s Cove property in late April 2017. The 178-acre property on Lottit Lake was listed at $748,000. The owner accepted our offer of $500,000, but we only had until May 31 to obtain funding. As a new organization, we did not qualify for normal financing; yet donations began pouring in from donors in Canada, the United States and Europe. The amounts varied from $20.00 to $20,000.00. People offered promissory notes and long-term loans in order to extend the fundraising window. On May 25th, the donations totalled $222,495.00 and the loans totalled $325,000.00, bringing the total to $547,495.00! We rejoiced at God’s miraculous work! The vision that God had given us 25 years earlier began to form into reality.
This property provides a sacred place for families and individuals to engage in land-based camps and retreats. Please join us as we continue to raise funds to cover the loan amounts.
