Caring for our neighbours.
We provide numerous outreach programs
The people who are right in our neighbourhood and on our doorstep are those we feel great compassion for. The homeless, street-involved, and vulnerably-homed are provided with hot coffee, a snack, and social interaction with people truly interested in their lives, interests, and well-being. During this time, relationships are built and potentially life-altering connections are made. Participants interested in taking the next step into a more stable, sustainable, healthy, fulfilling lifestyle are connected with NW Social Navigators who help them successfully enter and continue with various life-giving community resources such as: detox, medical care, safe housing, addiction treatment, employment, and much more. On Thursdays they are welcomed to “Story Hour” for a chapel service in language they can relate to.
Whether in winter or summer, the real warmth we give is to the heart through intentional conversations and friendship.
Low Income Complexes
NorthWind’s Playdays at Thunder Bay’s complexes have been going for years and is a welcome site to children and adults alike. Through carnival style activities, games and activities for people of all ages it is sure to draw a crowd. Ongoing friendships have been built over the years and many of the Gathering’s participants we got to know through our trips to the complexes.
The Learning Centre is for all who want to learn God’s Word and apply it to their lives……
