Caring for our neighbours.
We provide numerous outreach programmes.
The people that are right outside our door or huddled on out door step are those that we feel great compassion for. With the assistance from United Way Thunder Bay we were able to launch an emergency program called Warm Reprieve. We are able to give them some place to warm up during the cold winter days, offer a winter jacket, mitts, a cup of soup or coffee, and even some bannock at times. But the real warmth is to the heart through intentional conversations and friendship.
Low Income Complexes:
NorthWind’s Playdays at Thunder Bay’s complexes have been going for years and is a welcome site to children and adults alike. Through carnival style activities, games and activities for people of all ages it is sure to draw a crowd. Ongoing friendships have been built over the years and many of the Gathering’s participants we got to know through our trips to the complexes.
